Central venous access catheter placement

Certain medical conditions require the insertion of catheters into the bloodstream or gastrointestinal system to deliver medications or nutrients, or to draw blood. Gone are the days when a surgeon was the only doctor who could install a CVAC; the board-certified interventional radiologists of MIT can provide this service as a simple outpatient procedure, involving little to no discomfort. A CVAC is a convenient solution for people requiring regular infusions or blood draws, and creates a painless way to receive medication, nutrients, chemotherapy, or hemodialysis.

If you’re tired of being poked with needles, ask your MIT doctor if a                       CVAC is right for you.
